Eight Sprice Street
New York City, USA

Eight Spruce Street is a new urban landmark. With a moving metal façade typical of architect Frank Gehry's work, it looks like a dazzling sculpture and references the neighboring historicizing skyscrapers of a hundred years ago. From the jury's statement: “With this extremely eye-catching skyscraper, Manhattan not only gains an impressive landmark, but also an urban planning gem and an example of first-class architectural design and construction.”
